Sara Teasdale, poeta americana, nacida en Missouri en 1884. Se casó a los treinta años con un rico hombre de negocios, pero mantuvo una larga amistad platónica con un poeta (Vachel Lindsay). Finalment se divorció, y cuatro años más tarde se suicidó en su apartamento de Nueva York en 1933.
